This procedure will configure the MTAP Hub for the following:
Lock the Hub in Kiosk Mode, block the up/down swipe and access to any other apps
Clean up the MTAP Hub and uninstall all unwanted applications
(total 41 applications will be removed)
Fastboot on charger connection. No need to press the power button to boot the MTAP Hub.
Just connect the charging cable to an outlet.
Always on display, when the charger is connected.
Even if the MTAP App crashes for any reason, the screen will not go blank.
Stable and Reliable reader connection and discovery.

Upgrade to the latest MTAP version (3.4)
Step 1 : Configure Hub in Developer Mode
This step is mandatory to connect the Hub with your PC/Mac- Go to Android Settings
- Scroll to the end and tap About phone

- Scroll down and tap 7 times on the Build number
- You will see a message that You are now a developer
- Tap back button next to About phone header
- Tap System -> { } Developer options

- Scroll down under Developer options and enable USB debugging

2 popups will display asking you to Allow the USB connections,check the box in the second popup and accept both.The MTAP Hub is now ready to connect to the Laptop
Step 2: Download the Setup script
- Get the Setup and Cleanup script from the following link:
- Unzip the file after downloading to your laptop
Step 3: Connect MTAP hub to the laptop
Connect your HUB with your Computer/laptop (Please note that you do not need any special cable to connect your HUB you can use a regular USB-C Cable to connect your HUB with your computer/laptop .
If your laptop could not detect the hub as a USB device or if you encounter any error in the next step, please check the Troubleshooting section at the end of this document.
Step 4: Run the script
- Go to the unzipped folder on your laptop
- Go to the folder according to your laptop operating system:
- Win -> If you are running on a Windows laptop
- Mac -> Id you are running on a Macbook
- The files will look like below
- Double click on the file named install_lock_mtap_win.bat (Windows) or install_lock_mtap_mac.command (Mac)

- The script will start to execute and the Terminal window will show the following output
- Your MTAP hub will reboot multiple times during the process. This is normal.Errors:
- If you see an error that the APK cannot be installed, it means that your MTAP has already been upgraded to a newer version (higher than 3.4). Just ignore this message, the script will perform rest of the tasks mentioned above without any issues.
- If you see any other error, copy it and send to MOHID support for further assistance


The MTAP hub is now successfully configured to run in the Kiosk Mode.In case if the power has been disconnected and the Hub runs out of battery, just replugging the charger will boot up the MTAP hub without a need to manually press the Power button.
Troubleshooting:
- If the script gets stuck in the first step "Waiting for Phone" and never goes to Fastboot screen:Unplug and replug the USB cable
- If the script is stuck on Step 2 and nothing is happening, check your USB cable. You have to use a USB-A to USB-C cable to run fastboot command otherwise fastboot will not execute and the script will get stuck on step 2.

- If the phone goes to Fastboot screen (Grey Screen saying Fastboot Menu at the bottom), and stays there, and the script says Waiting for Fastboot connection ... follow the procedure in the video below to install the right drivers:

- If the script output stays on the Waiting for Fastboot connection... even after following the above procedure:Follow the procedure in the following video to update your laptop drivers and rerun the script.
- For any other error is printed on the script output, copy and send it to MOHID Support team for further troubleshooting.
