• Go to Financial Management--> Transaction
  • Click Add Journal Entries

  • Select the account that you want to do opening balance
  • If the beginning balance is in positive, add amount to credit section only and if negative, add amount to debit field only , the other field should remain blank
  • Add new row and select the account "opening balance" and then add amount to opposite field i.e. if you put the amount in credit in the above row, you should put the amount in debit in the opening balance account and other field should remain blank and vice versa
  • The difference should be always zero. If it is not showing zero, this means you are not entering it correctly
  • Please note that only chart of account report show the opening balance. The Receipts and Payment report will show he opening balance of any particular past date by adding or subtracting in the fund.
